Quick and Easy Tips for the Busy Entrepreneur

Give Your 2 Cents 90 Times

Shout out to Gary Vee for this strategy, which calls the $1.80 Strategy. Essentially, you pick a relevant hashtag to your niche and comment (give your $.02 of value) on 90 posts!

$.02 x 90 = $1.80!

Not only does this help you reach more people, it keeps you focused on your niche, so you’re not a health and fitness coach commenting on a fashion page. Finding a relevant hashtag opens you up to like-minded individuals who are already in your niche and their followers who are already interested in your niche.

This also allows you to become an ‘expert’ of sorts within your industry. What do we mean by this? If you ask Kaid how valuable a comment like “wow this is awesome!” is, he’d probably just shake his head at you in disappointment lol

The KEY here is to give VALUE in your $0.02 comment. Give an opinion with a fact to back it up or a genuine compliment specific to the post, respond to the question they actually asked in the caption, or bring in additional inspiration or support to the community engaging on the post.

BONUS: Engage on a few comments left by others. If the account owner is doing their job right, they’ll see you engaging with the community and appreciate you providing additional dialogue and value.

In the end, this engagement will build strong relationships with other account owners and drive their following to your content.

Find Your Voice

This takes time, but it also depends on the person. Either way, to find your voice is the most important step in building an authentic community. If you can’t communicate your message on a level that resonates, then you’re going to have a difficult time building and maintaining a community.

Finding your voice starts as a personal journey but will become a united journey you take with your community. For those that are with you from the beginning, they’ll be able to see the transformation you go through, which make them feel like they evolved with you.

As you find your voice, you’ll be better at attracting your dream customer. You’ll also find it easier to create content and that all comes together to make a quality feed and quality community that supports and likes you.

Share Your Story

This goes hand in hand with finding your voice because finding your voice can serve as part of your story! So many coaches and mentors have shared with me both how long it took them to find their voice, how they found their voice, and how they continued to evolve as their community evolved. Hearing these stories as a consumer or client builds trust, affinity, and connection.

As you share your own story, you’ll draw people who both aspire to be like you and/or had a similar story to yours that led them to where they are today. Stories are how we learn, how we grow, and how we learn who other people are. by sharing your story, you’ll have an opportunity to be honest and detailed with your community and build that trust.

Your story will grow as time goes by, but you’ll add on to the stories that already exist. As your community grows, they’ll be able to live the story out with you!

Hope this helps in your community building. Remember, authenticity and engagement are key!

Bye for now,
