Many think that hopelessness is something to be avoided at all costs, but that’s both unrealistic and untrue. Here’s why…

The Hope Cycle

Hopelessness is just part of the cycle that we are all naturally cycling through. It’s kinda like an upward trajectory corkscrew. Although you’ll have some downward loops of the cycle, where hopelessness creeps in, the hope that comes after actually propels you further and faster.

Hope and hopelessness are like yin and yang, one cannot exist without the other. Which brings me to our next point.

You Can’t Have Light Without Darkness

Without hopelessness, we would never know hope. Just like how you can’t know light without dark. It’s an oxymoron of sorts, that you need hopelessness and hope together, but stick with us.

Think about some of the happiest moments in your life…

Now think of some of the worst moments of your life…

The very fact that you can separate those two groupings is by having experienced them both. It creates the sliding scale of hopelessness and hope, where you know what the best and worst both feel like.

This Little Light of Mine

Kaid and I both grew up going to private, Christian and Catholic schools. There’s a really sweet song we both learned as little kids that goes like this..

“I’m going to let it shine
Let it shine, all the time, let it shine.
Hide it under a bushel? No!
I’m going to let it shine”

Even the smallest of lights can light up a dark room. A tiny candle that is shaky and weak can be all that was needed to guide someone else through a dark time.
